I have just bought a 1985 Hunter 25.5 that has a bit of water damage to the main cabin bulkhead and floor boards. The bulkhead was damaged by leakage through the chain-plate. has anyone have some advise on how to do this?

    Thanks

    Good News... Bad News!
The bulkheads are not tabbed in very securely, but you may have to cut them down to get them out. Remember, they put them in before installing the deck/cabin liner.
If you are in the water and have the mast up, you should build a vertical support beam for the cabin top on the inside and loosen the stays before moving the bulkhead.
    Hope this helps.

Make sure the chain plate covers that are screwed down with four ss wood screws are removed cleaning old caulk out and recaulking. Make sure you also apply caulk to screw threads. For safety, take your mast diwn
