Welcome tonyf1,
More information on the boat would be helpful in finding its name, class, builder, or whatever else can be discovered. A picture of the boat might generate some responses. I looked in a book titled The Sailboat Classes of North America published in 1968. The most similar sail insignia is for an Indian, a 21 foot open sailboat class that was made of wood. Asking the person from whom you received the boat is so obvious that you probably tried that without success. Also, the sail does not necessarily belong to the hull. Try searching sailboat insignia or sailboat classes or similar ideas. For other searches you might try Irondequat (sp) which is a New York area boat, or you could try other Native American names. 31seahorse
Edit.....way to go Ted.
