A better idea maybe, maybe not... The undercounter fridges on my last two boats were never even close to big enough for food and drinks for just a weekend. So I solved the problem by buying a cooler that fit under the dinette table...kept all the drinks on ice in it, reserved the fridge for food only. Bringing only the amounts each food item needed (requires a bit of meal planning and maybe even some advance prep at home) "expanded" amount of fridge space too. And not having drinks in the fridge eliminated the need to open it except when food was needed, saving a lot of amp hours/generator noise.
