double entendre for sure....that hulk has been sitting on the hard in this boatyard for sometime....folks drive by, stop, LOL and take a pic.....no clue who/where the skipper is....perhaps wasted....(yea LR, that'd be a hoot of a radio call, especially to the Coasties!)...

so regarding running lines aft (halyards and 2 others tbd), no cabin top winches...guess clutches would be best, what about these mini clutches/jammers? Thinking saving some space & $$$, will have to cut off last rung on handrail regardless...
Anyone use 'em? Thoughts?

We use Lewmar Single 6 winches and Lewmar D1 clutches for our halyards. Some people say you don't need halyard winches, and while that may be technically true, they are very nice to have. I'm no weakling, but getting wrinkles out of a sail in any kind of decent wind is an enormous PITA without a winch. At least for me. So maybe I AM a weakling. But that's my story, and I'm stickin' to it. ;)

I'm new at this so I'm probably way off, if so just disregard my rambling... But the way I see it clutches are really only in the prime when used in front of a winch. If not using winches, cam cleats will work and are considerably cheaper. I do like the Spinlock ones though... I'm running two lines aft per side also and plan to use the Harken double cam cleats. My boat had shorter handrails already, but I've completely removed them now to make more room for the lines.

now it's on to the cabin fans, other electrical....and the keel zinc decision debate...the keel was in great shape, didn't do the whole enchilada like many, just ground/sanded clean, several coats of rust lock, epoxy barrier coat, faired, bottom paint all by the boat yard guru, so likely put on the cd zincs with O rings or butyl tape as some have suggested (searched many posts) and see what happens. Don't have the ability to do Luke's method...although I believe that is ideal...

and I'm getting very tired of that stepladder!

Just don't fall off the ladder. My wife did that the first summer.
She then tried to fall off of the boat when it was on the trailer, after tripping on the chainplates. Just ended up with some serious bruises.
Since then, she says the "other women" is jealous.

That fresh water source is great... inexpensive and innovate. Just as thought for a future upgrade though; I'm sure there is a fresh water bladder out there somewhere that roughly fits the dimensions of that bow locker. If you maximize the length and width you could potentially double or triple you fresh water capacity. 15 gallons would be a royal pain to wrestle onto the boat, but at least you have the capability if you need the extra supply. It will also seat itself in the shape of the locker better without the tendency to want to roll. The other added bonus is that extra weight in the bow counter acts the traditionally transom heavy C22. This is why I am considering locating my battery (or two) in the compartment that is just aft of where you have your fresh water in this picture.

Luke....yea, that inexpensive camping bladder actually works out really well once I figured out suitable fittings, and feeds instantly to the sink pump/faucet (surprised me) in terms of functionality. Bonus IMO is just stick a dock hose thru the bow hatch to refill, no need to haul in/out to refill. Bought 2 of those so have a backup/spare for another 5 gal on the ready, just swap the modified cap out and done.

I did price some various v-berth bladders (fresh water containers) from several sources to fit that space, mighty pricey, and for our use, 5-10 gal per outing is way more than enough (our h2o useage is minimal, supplemented with spirits or beer)!

Cheers, get you boat wet!

hmmm, now u got me thinkin'....

second bladder full 'o brewski of choice, bag or 2 of ice on bladder, should all fit in that v-berth...just need a second whale faucet/pump/tap and nuther hose run.....possibilities are endless on little C22...

bunch 'o stuff to stow, figure out, at least it's outta the driveway, and the club's live webcam comes in handy, boat is first one upfront left, I can see who's trying to steal the outboard 24/7! (altho nevr been a problm here)...or if it sinks!

I'm officially gifting the friggin' stepladder to whomever wants it! Whew........!

Added plus, the Admiral is pleased!
