Anode for H260

I asked this before but thinking about it again, has anybody put an anode on the rudder headstock of this boat .
It's made from 316 stainless I believe . But sitting in a marina in saltwater over the summer I noticed some. Pitting.
If you look at the price of this fixture it's something I do not want to replace .
Anyone attatched an anode and if so did it work or create more damage.
