Merit 22- Oregon lakes
Sailed with my son in his Snark once in the Indian River (Fla) back in the mid 80s. I was about 35 then. the seed was planted then, but didn't buy my own first boat until I saw a Snark on CL ~2011. quickly moved to a AMF Puffer from that, then to a Catalina 14.2, then a Victoria 18, and finally our Mac 25 when I was 64. We've since sold the Vic 18 and bought our Vagabond 17 that we'll also keep as our quick set-up day sailer. I can't see us ever selling the Mac 25 as it fit's our multi day lake sailing trip needs to a T.

Boat length should roughly equal your age, +/-10 years as I see it - I've course I'm not practicing what I am preaching
60 years and just upgraded form a H33 to H41......part of it had to do with that spouse thing.....

Ericson 35 3 Paris Landing Tn
First and only boat 1984 Ericson 35-3 @ 54 years old. Probably not the smartest thing we've ever done. We have to keep it 3 hours away , so it's been tough to spend enough time to learn sailing well. 30 years in factory work have taken a toll on the body also, so....
We've been upgrading her for 2 years and sailing when we can. Still pursuing the dream to cruise her to the Bahamas and Caribbean.

1985 Ericson 32-III Everett
First boat was an El Toro, sailed on Lake Merritt. I think I was 8. It was followed by a succession of others (Sabot, Kite, Lido-14, Laser, Finn, Soling)... and then partnerships in a variety of race-boats.
Bought my current boat, a 1985 Ericson 32-III, two years ago at 57. Won't claim it is my "forever" boat, but I can't think of a boat I'd rather have for what I do. Big enough to go places, small enough I can comfortably single-hand, sails like a dream, and makes me smile every time I see her.
