In a word--gorgeous. Warmish; clear skies especially at night, with moderate winds on low seas. Leaving Ventura on Wednesday we sailed on a NW wind nearly all the way (17.5 n. mi.) into the anchorage at Little Scorpion, Santa Cruz Island. Anchored with plenty of swinging room which all late comers respected. The constellation Orion dominated the night sky, heralding arrival of the late autumn. Sailed home Saturday on a light SE wind which brought the apparent wind fwd of the beam. In the slip 15 min before afternoon fog arrived!! Gotta love it here!

A little cooler and damper up here in the winter but the water doesn't get hard and the winds are better. I guess you could say we're all year too! Unless you'd rather stay curled up in front of the fire with a good book.

This was our LA harbor cruise on the Wednesday before TG. It was warm as the Socal folks know that evening, and the wind and water were flat. Gorgeous and thankfully relatively uncrowded. Thankful indeed.

My wife and I traveled to Seattle where it was decidedly not warm and I think we saw the sun.....once! This was the pre-feast happy hour, during a brief glimpse of the sun...
