Replacing factory rope/wire halyards with just rope. I bought 7/16 but the manual lists 3/8. Now I am a little nervous about my decision to go up a mere 1/16 of an inch. Anyone else running all rope and if so anyone running 7/16?

The limiting factor will be the halyard sheave's rope channel diameter.... Check your owner's manual parts guide... I'm probably stating the obvious here. If you're the least bit apprehensive I would exchange for 3/8" ... if possible.

They are custom

They are custom. I don't know why I bothered to upsize them. Worst case I will run one up and see how it works. If it seems to bind at all I will pull it back down.

it may work but it's going to be very snug there is not much room up there

plus you need to dress the sheaves in the masthead as they are for wire/rope and they are probably gaulded from the wire

They probably aren't much bigger than the current halyards now, which are getting old and fuzzy.
