Hello all....
So I am upgrading ground tackle on new boat. Have to stick with the 3BBB chain due to no upgrade gypsy for windlass. Just wondered what has worked for others in terms of amount of chain and anchor. I am looking at Rocna 25 (55lbs) and 150 3/8 BBB chain.
Thanks

7 times deep anchor depth works for me, 150 ft of chain. That is a lot of weigh in the bow but is compact enough that I can stow a bag with 225 of 8-plait with 30 feet of chain for my #2 anchor.

150ft of 3/8" BBB on my primary, 250' rope/chain for my #2 I have a 66lb Manson Supreme.

I like to find lots of shelter and anchor in 15 feet or less typically. I use a heavy anchor because they are more reliable on short scope. So if necessary I can set and hold in 50 feet of water on my primary.
