O day 25 Nyack. New York
I'm helping a couple of new sailors with the 1977-28 Pearson that they have purchased. The previous owner had the batten pockets sewn up and there are two minor rips near the head. Before they spend money repairing the sail, I'd like to see if we could replace it with a better used main. But I need the luff and foot dimensions. Anyone have them. ? I looked at Sailboat specs but they are unreadable. Ernie

Most sailmakers will have a sail database for production boats. Google "sail (not sailboat) database" or "Sail size for Pearson 28" You can also go here to verify Dave's numbers Going to this link will explain how sails are measured...(something you should understand and be able to explain to your friends) the mainsail uses the "p" (luff) and "e" (foot) dimensions. Headsails are more complicated... so read the piece.
