1972 Catalina 27 am I the only one?

About a billion Catalina 27s are out there. I'm sure there's a few here. I've got a 30 - but ask a specific question and I'm sure folks will pipe in with some knowledge.

I was up in the chain locker or Foc'scle this morning the starboard and port lenses are there but no wiring or bulbs. there are two leads back by the bulkhead, of course I will tye in and run more wire but are their light fixtures available or do I need to re invent the wheel? It looks like the rode or chain beats the heck out of them!

If you are having problems with chain locker.... put a wire cage wood box around them.... or purchase the kind that mount on the pulpit... which means you'll have to extend wiring.

I'd convert to the pulpit mount because they're more visible and less expensive.
Some sort of conduit to protect the wiring in the anchor locker would prevent the anchor rode from killing the wire - also mount it very high under the deck rather down in the locker.

I own a '77 Hunter 27, but it had the same bow nav lights. When the red lens melted, I replaced it with the pulpit mounted fixture already recommended for the same reasons : cost and visibility.
Recently got some 2 mile LED lights in the smaller 3" size on Amazon for only $15.
