Hunter 26.5 Masthead Sheaves and Exit Plate Replacement

Greetings-
We have a 1987 Hunter 26.5. We raised the mast early in the season and everything tested correctly. But now the main halyard is jammed at or near the top of the mast. Before we go up there or pull the boat out to lower the mast for repairs, I'm wondering what to expect. I have a diagram of the masthead sheaves and exit plate but was wondering if anybody has already taken photos of the pieces/parts or has recommendations for parts to purchase before we head up/drop the mast.

Paul. Why are you assuming that th issue is at the masthead? The lines run up through the mast. Occasionally there are things inside the mast that can cause friction or blockage.
What happens when you pull up or pull down on the halyard? Could the halyards be jammed on the out side wrapped around a stay or the spreader?
What size of line ar you using?
