Hi—
I've spent some time sailing/living aboard tall ships, but don't have much terribly experience sailing. I am looking to get my first boat, both to learn on, but primarily to live aboard. I was doing some research and it looks like the Cat 30 might be a good option, but wanted some opinions from more experienced sailors.
My primary/immediate purpose for the boat is just a place to live. I'd rather put monthly payments into a boat I own then towards a rented room in an apartment. I'm not so worried about comfort. I lived happily on a cramped tall ship with a crew of six for three months, and lived out of a four-door Toyota Camry for a year. Trust me, a Cat 30 is an upgrade I can handle.
Beyond that, I'm mostly wondering if it's a ship I'll be able to learn to sail on, and any issues or concerns I should think about going into this.
Thanks so much. Super excited to own my first boat!
