Hello all after quite a while,
It looks like there is fissure in the outside part of the chainplate around the second, from the bottom bolt. The plate seems to be about 1/2” thick. I wonder if anyone had to change this plate/chainplate. It looks to me that the plate has a big lug which goes inside the bow and to which the forestay is attached, any details how it is made would be appreciated. The picture I am attaching is not very good, but it gives the idea.
Many thanks.

I can't supply details of how that plate is mounted but I do agree something is wrong. At the very least those fasteners need replacement and I would highly suspect the integrity of that plate. It would be a "Prove to me it's OK" situation not a "Is it OK?" one.

I don't know how similar the 40.5 is to my 40 but I've got some photos of the inside of the bow showing the ends of the bolts. I took the photos when I cut out the old anchor locker. If they will help you let me know, I'll PM them to you.

Here is a sketch of the arrangement of the chain plate and one inside picture.
I wonder how thick is the fiberglass on the forward edge of the bow. Eventually I’ll get to know it, when I’ll get at least one bolt out. 13504F84-F9B2-4C3A-B8B5-A25AAFB7F4C0.jpeg88283E6E-1A67-4330-8D61-743CA4C49BFD.jpeg
