Okay guys I’m in a pickle.
I was given an 25’ O’day in hopes of fixing it up and getting it on the water. A close family friends death was the reason of this gift and I would love to honor what he had planned for this boat. I have sailed many small boats and a few larger boats but at the time of...
Everyone was so helpful with advice for my bringing lines aft (bought supplies, will post updates in that post) I thought I would ask you all something:
I have a pair of brand new teak hatch runners, the old ones are in rough shape. How would you recommend I go about installing these? Mainly...
Our '82 catalina 25 was unfortunately damaged in a storm. Repair quotes are significantly more than the value of the boat, so we are looking into any last-ditch home-made type repair we could do to try salvage the boat. We're new to sailing and were excited to really get into it with this boat...
Ahoy everybody!
My wife and myself just purchased a beautiful cat 30. Before we restep the mast next week, we are replacing the old wooden spreaders with new oak spreaders . No we don't want aluminum. If the old wood ones lasted that many years being an 82 model, I'm okay with that.
My...
I bought my H146 new in 2006 and all was great for the first 8 yrs or so. Last few years I've had to do a lot of crack patching, mainly on the rail but some in the cockpit seats. First used Devcon Plastic welder, and cracks re-opened over course of a year. Repaired again being sure to get temps...
Any know how to remove the centerboard chest cover on a '77 Widgeon? I removed the mainsail fair lead/cleat mount thinking there'd be something underneath but there's nothing.
The centerboard line cleat needs to be repaired and I'd like to do the repairs without leaning over the gunwale the...
Hello,
I recently came into an '81 Oday Day Sailer II. I paid next to nothing for it and intend to learn on it here on Lake Erie. While I'm all for making any vital repairs, I really just want to get sailing. I'm asking if these cracks are major bad news, more cosmetic, or somewhere in...
So I spent the other day at a steady 30-45 degree angle with a big 155 and full main spread. Very fun and lost rudder effectiveness on a few occasions but this was the unwelcome result. Port side stay anchor on my Hunter 25.5.
Outside deck has a slight cracking that doesn't look to bad but...
Thanks all for your input here! Because of the statements made by myself and others, I feel maybe I'm being a little hard on the state and town. I am officially threw. Thanks for your understanding..
Best Regards StarGazer II
