Volvo throttle control....

Hello all,

On my Beneteau 423 they installed a single lever throttle made by volvo. I do love the single handle.... As part of this it has a trolling setting that will move the boat slowly, however when advancing the throttle there is a spring action that if you dont push far enough it pops back to trolling speed. Is there any way to control this as I feel I miss out on a range of engine rpm's that otherwise I might use.

I doubt that spring action is intentional. It seems more likely that the point where the throttle cable casing at the engine end needs to be adjusted. The casing may be slipping slightly in the hold down clamp.
