1980 Catalina 30 Newbie With Transmission Questions

This is my first boat and I am trying to learn. It is a standard Universal 5411 and I have the info I need regarding engine maintenance and oil changes, etc., but have no info on the transmission. From what I have read it is a Hurth and the current type of fluid to use would be Dexron III or it's current replacement. Where can I find info on where/how to check the fluid level, the amount of fluid to use and to verify that I will be using the correct type of ATF?

Find out the model of transmission you have and Google that stuff.
There's a plate on the trans that'll spell it out for you.
