But winter shed construction will ensure that S/V MaryAnn gets her spring tune up earlier in the spring :) Its always about sailing after-all......

I think the wood frames stabilize the sonotubes during the pour. I can't figure the bolts. Maybe tying the tubes to the slab?

Frames are to support the tops of the 12” x2’ sonotube pillars— and the bolt is the top of an 8” anchor bolt that will hold down the beam brackets for the 4x6 sleepers.

Stage 1 is a 10x12 footprint — but I manipulated the HOA into a 10’ wall height with a 10/12 pitch that will let me put a useable loft in the front 1/2 — should be just under 16’ to the eaves.

Stage 2 ( either before or after sailing season ) is a 6x10 greenhouse for the admiral.

Silly me. I thought the shed was for your 3-masted schooner. That would explain the 3 holes. Just store the boat upside down and you won’t have to remove the masts.

I was thinking the sonotubes distort when filled, but wasn't sure that was a worry or your consideration.
Those bolts have a larger bottom end/plate so they don't pull out, or is that not a serious worry and they are just for lateral movement ?

FWIW, I'm a DIYer who has built garages on slabs but never worked with sonotubes or pilings before.

So it will have a wood floor? Not concrete? Is that to avoid assessment as a permanent structure?

Now you're just being silly.

Great plan, PC. I never cared much for that "Cornhole" game. It was brilliant that you made the Tic-Tac-Toe game into a yard-sized game for when you have folks for BBQ. Or is that for "Twister"?

@Leeward Rail -- Sonotube is strong enough to contain the pour -- the frames were essentially to keep the tube height level and keep anything from moving off center-- all but the last few inches were also surround by backfill. Primary goal there was to keep them insulated as overnight temps are dropping below freezing. Anchor bolts are galvanized and have an L hook profile to keep them bedded in the pier (pic below)

@Justin_NSA -- yep on top of the piles will be 3 4x6x12's a deck of 2x6x10's will light on top of the sleepers and will covered by tongue and groove plywood flooring-- the frame will build from that platform.

@DayDreamer41 -- yep frost line is in inches out here-- 2' is overkill.

@Ron20324 -- TWISTER!
