Mine is home now after 2 weeks in Ireland. But I must suffer another 3 weeks at the end of the month when I go on my solo summer cruise

What's the game plan after the oil change Mark? A definite destination or just where the wind blows?
We moved from Port McNeill to Alert Bay today. Will take in the cultural centre etc. tomorrow. Another week or two exploring before heading further north.
We’re not getting anywhere near that far north this year. Some small trips (family) and then about july 2 head north. Not sure we’re going to get out of Gulf Is. We have to be in Chemainus july 18 for a dinner/musical. If you’ve never done that, I heartily recommend it. It’s a blast. Small chance of making a run to Desolation or Princess Louisa. Next year it’s telling everybody they can’t die, or get married, or have kids, etc , etc. Did that two hrs ago when we went to The Broughtons and it worked great...
Spent the afternoon at the local cultural centre. Unfortunately no pics allowed inside but a great mask collection.
A twenty team soccer tournament going on here this weekend so a boatload of tourists arrived.

While you’re in Alert Bay check out Gator Gardens, it is a spectacular boardwalk park. I go there often, my wife was born there!
Please don't tell anyone, but they told me the same thing when I went through a few years ago. Never said anything about not taking videos, so I took quite a bit of the inside of the Centre. Maybe I should post it on Youtube for you. Hmm.

Very interesting walk through Gator Garden. It has a mysterious beauty.
The campground was being well used by all the football (soccer) players.Good call Scotty. We really enjoyed our walk. Moved over to Cormorant Channel Marine Park this afternoon.
Very nice., A few years ago, after leaving Alert Bay heading south, we ducked into the Pearce Island Group for protection from a gale that was trucking through the area. You could see the trees above jostling from the wind, but nice and calm at anchor in between the islands. Beautiful country.
I'll be on Thetis on July 13-15, before that from the 8th with Les bobbing around the So. Gulf Islands, then back to Maple Bay. Maybe we can get together.
After leaving Cormorant Channel Marine Park we explored the Plumper Island group, then moved a little south to Spout Cove and spent the evening watching the traffic in Blackfish Sound.
This morning we decided to move up to Sointula on Malcolm Island. Some sailing, had a couple of Humpbacks for company for awhile then a few porpoises. All in all a good day.
