Hi All,

I am a new Catalina 387 2006 owner. During delivery the diesel tank leaked (we think from the fuel gauge sending unit). There is some amount of diesel fuel still under the tank. Does this area drain into the bilge? Does anyone have a diagram of the liner / bilge drain holes throughout the Boat?
Thanks in advance for your

You are doing the right thing by using absorbent pads. The fiberglass containment vessel is designed to hold 110% of the tank volume. That said, there should not be an active drain, but there may be petcock controlled drain. If you lower pads down between the tank and containment structure and weight that side of the boat, you should be able to slowly recover the diesel. The other problem is the odor. If you are in a part of the country that finds people heating their houses with #2 oil ( basically the same thing as diesel) you should be able to acquire a container of de-odorizer. Good luck
