Plenty of places to get tossed from. Plenty. Ralph is lost in the mountains, trying not to get run over by a train. No bars to get thrown out of?
No disrespect but you hail from Alberta. What has that got to do with the Gulf Islands? With no disrespect to anybody who has a boat there, its shocking that in and around Monterey, how many boats there are and how few places there are to go. We kinda take the gulf islands for granted!
Freighters in Navy Channel? Never had that experince!! Maybe the odd small pleasure boat....John,
Indeed, the threat of a deadhead is ever present, and that would be something to wreck the day in a hurry. I can't recall ever seeing more than one transit of Navy Channel, along with a couple of freighters.
Cheers
Gary
Um, how about, Monterey? With no disrespect to anybody who has a boat there, its shocking that in and around Monterey, how many boats there are and how few places there are to go. We kinda take the gulf islands for granted!
Sounds like your stuck in an old episode of "Cheers". Only place you can be 250 yards from Open ocean to Japan is on the west coast. If you were in the Islands you'd have to navigate your boat many miles over Vancouver Island to even find water. Or a day or so back through the Strait with anchorages and marinas to stop at for a custom brew.I think "The weather's perfect and the bartenders know my name, what else can you want ?"
Hey, I resemble that remark. ;-)it's the yuppers that cause the most trouble from what i have seen. beware
