Just curious about the standard set-up on a Yamaha 33'. Lift, or water lock muffler. I'm in the final stages of boat acquisition, and the engine's exhaust elbow needs replacing in the worst way possible. However, I'm also wondering about the long-term effects on the rest of the exhaust system if the boat's exhaust was in an almost continuous state of disrepair. How's the access to these remote parts of the boat?

I just replaced the exhaust elbow on my 2GM20F and it was very difficult to do with the very limited space/access on my Hunter 30T (1991).
The old parts came off easy after 4 bolts removed and a small tap in the right spot. Then the new parts attached easily. But getting my 2" exhaust house attached after that was the nightmare. If you can attach the new exhaust hose prior to putting the parts on the engine. Maybe you have better access than I did?
