Photoday!! A Guillemot's wake.

Like an approaching boat under sail, you can’t hear the wake Guillemot.

A Guillemot moves through the water as silently as the tip of an artists brush on canvas, flowing out a wake of light behind.

Approaching our quiet boat, he paints his way along the glassy surface.

Very still in the cockpit, there is a last chance to hear the wake of a Guillemot...

Nothing.

Compete opposite to a Pelican. When diving for fish, they hit the water with an almighty splash, like a bag of bricks, only to sit there, in the center of the spreading ripples. with an expression that asks:" Who, me?"

I took a couple shots of some eagles Saturday at the lake. One adult and one juvenile bald eagle. Shot from a long way off with my zoom. You'd think our national bird would not be soo hard to get closer to.

You'd think our national bird would not be soo hard to get closer to.

Somedays you can get pretty close. Six waiting for lunch at the fish packing plant. Watching over the Grizzlies in the Khutzeymateen. Just waiting til you're not looking to stomp that wind indicator.

Not my photo.. My wife is the cat person. She found it.
Looks like the eagle is on the young side brown feathers and all. The cat looks more at ease than I would expect. May be cat is thinking, "Now I got you birdie right where I want you".
