I'm replacing my 2-4D house (wet) with 4-6v(wet). My '98 Hunter 376 still has the OEM Freedom Heart inverter(2000watt)charger. Any problems y'all see with that charger and this setup?
Thanks. Bob.

No problem as long as the charger is rated at 40 amp-hrs or more so as to minimize the bulk charge duration. The charger doesn't care but it's unclear what rating your charger is - it's not "2000 amps".

You will have a 12V series/parallel bank and your existing inverter/charger (100A) will connect just fine provided the bank is wired correctly.

Hi Bob, can I ask where will be locating the new 4-6V batteries? I am considering to increase my house battery pack from 2-6V to 4-6V Trojan. Currently the two batteries located under the port side settee but I removed the AC from the the starboard side and I think all four of them would be fitting nicely there.
Cheers, Gabor

Just a suggestion
I know that it's hard to replace something that is currently working
But.... the xantrex freedom systems are not that reliable, and lots of folks have replaced them.
I suggest Magnum Energy., excellent gear!!

That Heart Freedom Inverter is why Xantrex bought Heart out. If it's working, I wouldn't replace it.

That charger will put-out an honest 40-50 amps after it settles "down".

As for the question of location of batteries under a seatee...Is the compartment ventilated? You will get outgassing from those batteries in the normal course.

I did same thing back in 2010 and have same inverter /charger and no problems
and have also added 2 solar panels and love how well they charge batteries.

Nick,
Is your inverter / charger mounted under the port side settee, back side?
Thanks, Jeff

Yes right front of the nav station and battery switch is under the nav station and installed the 4 volt batteries are on the starboard sette and been there since around 2010 and did this to balance boat
Because Gen in port cockpit compartment and all the heavy duty cables all were good fit
