Lake Huron represents with Tri-City Brewing Charity Island IPA - https://www.tricitybrewing.com/beers. The Island is the division between Saginaw Bay and the rest of the world, and has a nice lighthouse (pictured) due to the nasty ship-eating rocks.

There was an interesting history on IPAs in the article. I still prefer porters and stouts.

Who has read the Boat US article on nautically inspired beers? It would be fun to collect the set
Has anyone tried these? Some have an editors choice rating.

I wouldn't be able to collect them, I've only been known to borrow the contents of the bottles.

But I'd play along with this thread and be more than willing to try any hopsy IPA. My favorite beer comes from Portland Maine, and we can get it here in NY.

Just my opinion, but I find most IPA's taste like you know what. Again that is just a old farts opinion. Give me a dark amber, my personal favorite is Dos Equis Amber ( nothing to do with nautical themed )

Thirsty from a sail the Homeport Blonde will refresh.
Halibut fish and chips play well with the Amber.
But when the Porter is on Nitro it is difficult to leave.

Second that on the IPA's. Give me a Guinness Stout, Harp Lager, Stella, or Becks and I'm a happy sailor.

Third on the ipa's! Parsons already pegged my favorite. I have a friend smuggle it in for me on special occasions.

I was not surprised to see only right and left coast beers. (Except for the Georgian beer)

The Third Coast has good breweries and one of my favorites is Pensacola Bay Brewery. https://pbbrew.com/

I for one am a IPA guy give me a 100+ ibu beer with low malt and I'm very hoppy. It does require food to go with it.

Our local brewery is named after the fact that during Colonial times, the city of Alexandria was the fourth busiest port after New York, Boston, and Charleston (times were different then), but they don't have nautical names on the beers themselves.
I'll drink most anything, but I remember Heavy Seas giving me a bad headache, Sam Adams does the same.
