Just bought a P21, managed fine with the standing rigging, but quite confused with the running rigging, what pulley and lines goes where. Looked at Tom's book and now even more confused. Anyone would have pictures (worth a 1000 words) of the rigging on their P21 to share please. Thanks

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new sailboat!!

Oh the joys of owning your first sailboat..............figuring everything out !! I would love to show you but you are a little far to drive from San Francisco. If you do an internet search on "Precision 21 sailboat rigging" and you will see many photos of the rigging. Might contact the author in this link for a owner's manual Looks like your sailboat appears to have standard rigging........jib and main halyards, mainsail outhaul, boom vang (maybe), mainsail and jib sail sheets, mainsail traveler, toping lift (maybe), reefing lines so suggest buying a book on sailboat rigging, etc. A short quick lesson from a sailing instructor will go a long way in clarifying the functionality of each line.

Thank you very much, i looked at all the pictures I could, still not 100% clear, don't quite understand why there isn't like a step by step manual out there, with pictures.

Never seen one.............Suggest a 30 minute hands-on session with one of your sailboat neighbors and that will take the mystery out it OR make a list of all the lines with photos of where they are attached and where they go for the forum to provide assistance.

This is the best way to get help from the forum. It doesn’t sound like you have the lines run, so post wide shot pictures of the blocks (pulleys) on the boat and the lines. The hive mind here can probably help get you set up to sail.

We can help. Welcome to the SBO Forum. Congrats on your boat.

While we may not have sailed a P21, we can help you rig her. Running rigging. Take and post images of the blocks. Image the boom. Looks like the Mainsheet would be attached to the boom end. A practical location. Good control of the mainsail.

You may not believe this but sloops like your P21 have similar rigging to many other boats.
