Replacement or Repairs October 15, 2019 1. The head liner in the V berth has fallen and needs to be re-attached to the (roof) top of the V birth; I have been researching what the best contact cement or adhesive to repair. I hired a guy to repair if once, but whatever he used it did not hold. 2. There is water damage to the flooring in the main cabin where water has dripped into the cabin around the mast. The wood either needs to be lightly sanded and polyurethane or replaced. I know a fellow who has replacement board which can be cut to replace. 3. The main and working jib are at least 15 years old and where serviceable the last time I sailed the boat. As far as I know they do not need to be repaired, but obviously they fabric and seams are getting old. I have head sails for the boat that are new in a bag (they were new when I bought the boat), but they would need to be cut to fit the roller reefing. There are two spinnakers that have been lightly used when racing and are in good shape. 4. The boat was set up for racing and has a number of halyards for the spinakers over and above the main halyard and the jib halyard. The main halyard is showing signs of wear and needs to be replaced. The spinnaker halyards have not been used a lot and and have mildew damage and are still serviceable, but could be replaced for cosmetic reasons. 5. There are cushions on the boat for the seating outside and are only a few years old and should be fine. The other inside cushions were fair (as far as I know they were original equipment) the last time I sailed, but they were left on the boat and may need to be redone since the boat was not in the water last summer and this summer because I had leg issues and a fracture and did not feel comfortable moving around the boat. 6. The batteries were new the last time I sailed, but since I have not sailed, I assume they only need charging. There are two house batteries and a starting battery. 7. There is an autopilot on the boat which needs maintenance to be rewired and attached. The wheel I am sure needs to be lubricated. 8. The boat is equipped with a heating/airconditioning system, that work by drawing water in from the lake and either heating or cooling. It started to overheat and the fail safe switch was going off. I looked into replacing the unit. Depending on the size, it would cost between $1,000 to $1,500.00 if the unit there can not repaired. I could not find anyone locally who had worked on this type of system to see if it could be serviced. 9. The wind speed, depth, and gps should be updated. The depth, wind direction, and speed are original equipment. The depth should still work. The wind speed and direction do not work and I did not feel I needed them. There is a wind vane on top of the mast for wind direction. I had a small gps that I used that had the Lake Michigan/Lake Huron charts, but the new systems have touch screen and I would recommend upgrading the gps. 10. The stove is a propane stove and probably all that it needs is for the propane tank to be charged. 11. The compressor went out on the refrigerator. The compressor either needs to be repaired or replaced. ‘ 12. There is a hot water heater. There is a heating element that needs to be replaced. I replaced it previously. I cost about $25. 13. It has a ship to shore radio aboard in the cabin. I also have a handheld to be used for docking or calling from the cockpit. I replaced some speakers in the back of the cockpit and wired them to the bulkhead to the cabin. I was going to buy an am/fm to attach to the speakes and the speakers can be wired to the ship to shore (I did not do it with the handheld.) 14, There are two anchors, docking lines, and bumpers all on board. 15. The jib sheets are new or close to new. The main sheet is serviceable, but you may want to upgrade for cosmetic reasons. 16. The main sail cover is in bad shape from sun rot. The wheel cover is serviceable but I would replace it along with the main cover. The boat is equipped with a lazy jack and I have a system to support the main holding it up. I have two replacement bars for it
