Hi I just bought a Vanguard 15 used and I am looking for some tips on sailing/rigging. The boat is older and I want to take it easy and not bust her up while I am learning. I may go down to a laser, I am still deciding.
I'm very inexperienced and there is not much available on this boat online. My main concerns are getting her rigged safely limiting the chances of breakage or getting fouled up while trying to learn her way.
I was sailing her without the jib which when I called Vanguard/laser looking for a clue they told me not to do that as it was dangerous.
Proper tension on the shrouds and forward stay, proper rigging of the sails and lines (especially to minimize getting fouled) etc. I've been doing ok but just by looking at pictures and guessing.
