FYI,in my 1982 C-38 #169 where the chain inside the Edson pedestal connects to the 7x19 3/16 ss cable, it wore through the eye-thimble and cable. I keep the steering adjusted for no slack the st4000+ likes it that way.You can not see this transition point with any reg. maint check, so I would suggest thinking about changing them out if yours is in this age group.
