Have a great story to tell! We found a CL add for a Cat 22 in the remote desert of Eastern Idaho. Upon inspection we found an unbelievable boat and its history.
1973 Cat 22, hull #3032 Purchased NEW in Eastern Idaho, sailed a dozen times or so and then stored for 40 years!!!! New owner buys it and again it sits stored for 10 more years!!! We are blown away with this boat! All original and in amazing condition! What a find!

The color is definitely 70's:cool:, Should be able to bring back its luster with minimum effort. Congrats, but just remember there's still years of exposure even though it's been minimally sailed. Check fittings, hatch and portlight seals, etc... anythng you think might be affected by changing seasons. Have fun!

We have been happy with everything so far. No leaks at any of the fittings, we have tempered glass ! The weather stripping at the hatch and pop top were dried out, and we have new halyards and sheets. We will get to set the boat up as it has literally nothing in the deck or on the mast or boom. Rerouting to the cockpit and replacing the rudder are next. We have sailed her a couple of times and there is s warp in the rudder. The galley was perfect. Stove never used!
We’ve been crewing on a few of our local San Juan 21’s and now we have our own boat to race!
The best footnote to the story is that we only paid 500$ for her. Grateful for sure!

What a score! Nothing like a "barn find" for practically nothing!

Does the ol' Evinrude still run??
