Furler IF

anyone have insight on the type of furler in this photo. Recent 1984 C22 purchase.

Not familiar with that brand but it looks simple enough. Foil for the sail, cleat for halyard, stay and turnbuckle concealed inside the drum. Not sure why the bailing wire but it worked for someone. I would likely use line (or nothing) so that it did not rust but hey its up to you.

Is there something wrong with it?

Thanks for the reply. Previous owner adding the baling wire because the feeder eye kept turning. I figured eventually I’ll disassemble to see why.
