God rest his soul. A good man is lost....

We were anchored in a tight anchorage in Trinidad when Don Street cruised in in his big red wooden sailboat. The boat was moving slowly downwind as Street walked barefoot to the bow and, I swear, used his toe to tip the anchor into the water. He stood at the bow and watched the anchor chain fall off behind the boat, secured the chain, and walked to the companionway and disappeared into the cabin. Didn't see him again that evening and he was gone before we got up the next morning. He was quite a character.
