"standard" or "performance" mainsail for Hunter 140?

I am new to this boat, can someone recognize the sail as a standard or performance model?

Also, I am looking for a rudder for the boat; if anyone has a used one for sale, I'd be glad to know it. Finally there are some cracks in the hull at/near the mast base. I was going to use polyester fiberglass but from reading posts now I'm not so sure...would epoxy and fiberglass work?

Thanks!

Well I have done a bit of research on the web and first off, I have found no mention of an available performance sail and secondly the sail on your 140 looks identical to many pictured, so I would venture a guess that it is the standard main.

Thanks much for your research. I was looking at the literature included with my boat (even the sales receipt from 1999!) which mentions that actually 3 sails were available; a standard with 82sqft, a performance with 92sqft and a training which included closed cell foam sewn into the top of the sail. Both the standard and performance came in the same battan configuration and colors, so it might be hard to tell one from the other. The permanence has more roach than the standard. These other non-standard sails might have been something that jysailboats.com offered as options outside of what Hunter offered? jysailboats is no longer around, the domain is for sale.

I can't comment on your sail, but your mast foot repair is a fairly easy fix. My '04 Hunter 170 cracked at the centerboard trunk about 2/3 of the way back from the mast. Stick with the stuff the manual says to use, it ran me about $158 for the 3M applicator, Plexus ma310 adhesive and mixing nozzles. I read up on old threads and it came out great. I ordered the Plexus MA310, 3M applicator and mixing nozzles from https://www.jamestowndistributors.c...plexus_ma310&gclid=CP32y6OpjtECFZiNswoduJUDdw

One tube of 50ml should be plenty to do the job. Follow the instructions on page 20:

Less is more with the plexus. I did a quick fix on mine in the fall as I had 6 weeks in the season before my boat came out for the season. I've spent about 2 hrs sanding and almost complete with sanding. I'll paint it over in the spring as its winter here in Ohio.

Hope all goes well for you!

Thanks a million for your suggestions. I was confused on which Plexus to buy. With your suggestion I'll buy the MA310 50ml cartridge together with a mixing gun and nozzles. I found them a little less expensive (especially the mixing gun) at:

http://www.epoxysupply.com/adhesive...h-strength-mma-adhesive-50ml-cartridge-31500/

http://www.epoxysupply.com/dispensi...un-kit-for-1-1-and-2-1-ratio-50ml-cartridges/

http://www.epoxysupply.com/mixers-s...24-element-static-mixers-for-50ml-cartridges/

The plexus 310 is advertised to have about a 15-18 minute working time. Hopefully this is enough time to lay some fiberglass cloth over the most damaged areas, after sanding with 200 grit paper. I wonder is there a particular weight/weave fiberglass that is best for larger repairs? From what I read many of the crack repairs done by opening with a moto tool, then laying a bead of plexus in the groove fail over winter storage. I hope that a little strip of fiberglass embedded in the plexus over a slightly larger area might help solve that problem?

Working with Doug on repairs. I think the sail is aftermarket as the original was solid white but appears to be fine.
