Heard this on NPR yesterday. An interviewer once asked Glenn if he ever met Charles Lindbergh. Glenn's reply was to the effect of "yes, I did some test flying for him when he was an exec at...., but I only really knew him from flying with him during the war" (WWII). I was stunned. Here was one of the greatest heroes of the 1920's, crossing paths with one of the greatest heroes (to be) of the 1960's, flying together in the same squadron in the 1940's.

Just another example of the breadth of Glenn's life.
