Has anyone put a composting head in an 83-87 H31?

I'm not interested in starting a debate on marine heads vs. composting heads. I have removed our Jabsco to facilitate taking measurements. We'd like to go composting, but the head compartment is pretty small, and I am worried about fit. Size is not the only factor, as I also need to accommodate hull/liner shape, and the effect of the 5" elevation in the liner where a marine head would sit, versus the floor in the rest of the compartment. I am willing to remove cabinetry and do some carpentry work.

If you have actually put a composting (desicating) toilet in your H31 of this era, I would love to hear from you, via post or PM.

Ours marine head was replaced with a porta-potty piped to the on deck pump out. Forward waste tank was converted to storage space under the V berth. All this was before we got her.

@pateco - Chip, do you have any pictures (including perhaps on your restoration page)?

I can't find a picture of the head, but here is what they did to the waste tank.

I'll try to take a head picture next time I'm at the boat.
