Who knows..whatever it is seems to be working. Been there five days that I know of. There are several people on board. I hope they're keeping track of chafe and have some other tackle. There's no way they're leaving the bay until the surf subsides which is looking like another few days min. And, why did they go in there in the first place this time of yr?..

From what I hear there are not so many places to anchor in the Hawaiian Islands. That is, places are "few and FAR between." Could be the "any port in a storm" refuge at work, etc. There is a harbor (Kukuiula) on the south coast of the island but @ 30 n.mi. distant from the one they are in now; so, I don't know. They appear to be in the most protected area of the mooring field if you examine a chart of the bay.
