Extra Pieces in Yanmar Impeller Kit?

Hello,

I replaced the raw water impeller on my Yanmar 4JH2-HTE Diesel Engine. The Yanmar parts bag 129470-42532 came with the impeller and two smaller parts (See attached photo). They look like a spacer and a spacer/cover. I didn't see where these were used with the impeller I was removing, so I did not use them when I installed the new one.

Does anyone know the intended use for these two parts?

Fair winds,
Rob

Thank you!

Thank you. I thought that might be the case. But, obviously, the last "professional" who installed the impeller did not use them.
Thank you again,
Rob

Just a note about putting the impeller on the shaft. It is a good idea to coat the shaft with either a high quality anti-sieze like Tef-gel or a natural lube like Lanocote. Every boat owner should have these in the toolbox at all times anyway.

Lanocote is also great for holding gaskets in place while bolting on the cover.
