Removing Curved Fixed Portlight

So the 302 and 322 have fixed portlights that make a 90' bend over the top of the deck. Anyone successfully removed one of these WITHOUT breaking it? I'd like to take it to a shop to have a new one fabricated.

No, but plexi forms readily under heat!
It looks like a neat project to try. If I were replacing them, I would use 1/2" smoked plexi.
After you replace them, cover them when not in use. They will last longer. Plexi expands and contracts greatly under heat and cool.

I agree....Why re-invent the wheel ? I bought new ports from D & R and they were perfect fit and high quality...I could have
fooled around here in Wichita as there are many companies here that make windows, ports, etc. out of lexan and other very high tech materials. for the aircraft built here....D & R shipped them very quickly and offered great advice for installation..Pat

I imagine a bent putty knife would work well to separate the caulking from the inside if the windows are recessed.
