Holding tank vent size

I think I know the answer to this, but I'm gonna ask anyway. I know a 1" ID vent hose is preferred, but would a 3/4" ID hose be a real bad idea, even if it's only running a few feet (same setup as PaulJ, http://forums.sailboatowners.com/index.php?threads/head-pump-out.181331/)? I'm asking because I've already got a piece of 3/4" hose on hand (#148), so there's one less thing to buy. If it's a bad idea I'll go with the larger size.

Also if I go with the 1", does anyone know what size hole saw I need for the 1" Uniseal and the 1" Thru Hull fitting? MIght as well buy everything at once!

#148 hose is cheap and you won't need much....so go with 1" and save your 3/4" to replace your toilet intake line when it needs it.
The folks at Uniseal are the ones to ask about the hole saw size.

Thanks. The 3/4" hose is left over from earlier replacing the toilet , toilet intake to the sink drain, and the sink drains.

Thanks also for making me check the Uniseal size. For 1" ID hose you actually need a 3/4" Uniseal, for 3/4" PVC pipe (OD = 1.050") and a 1.25" hole in the tank. Also looks like the Forespar 906026 1" mushroom thru hull wants a 1.25" hole.
