A wonderful thanks to Brian and Mary Scott for once again opening their beautiful home for the HAPS annual business dinner, silent auction and election of officers. Officer wise Kerstin Hilton was elected to Membership Chair, Mary Scott Re-elected to Treasurer and Mike and Ruth Murray re-elected to Fleet Co-Captains.

Under business several proposals were made. One discussed charging a fee for non-member Hunter owners wishing to join us for a trial weekend. The motion was seconded and voted down. It was thought that we should be generous and let a non-member try us for free…but should they join us for another weekend the membership fee should be expected. Another proposal involved charging for guests on board member boats. The decision was to have the HAPS member determine an appropriate amount from the rendezvous host and contribute that sum. This fee would not apply to those under 12.

Stuart Scadron-Wattles distributed HAPS business cards for distribution to prospective members. He also unveiled the HAPS website. Hunterpugetsound.com. I think it is an awesome contribution to HAPS and a testament to his skill, dedication, and affection for HAPS. Thanks, Stuart!!!

Various awards were given. A laser cut wood plaque to Bill and Jeannine Bramstedt for 10 years of faithful and dedicated service as Membership Chair. Another laser cut plaque to Brian and Mary Scott for three annual dinners, Host and Hostess Extraordinare. For their superb South Sound cruise organizing efforts John and Kerstin Hilton and Steve Stark and Barb Rosenbaum were each given a one quart insulated stainless steel thermos. Larry Tughan, personified the HAPS spirit transiting from Gig Harbor to Des Moines and back again to deliver an alternator belt to Tom Hubbard so Tom could join us. Larry received a 36 can or two wine bottle flexible cooler for his selfless efforts. Stuart was presented a personal strobe light that had two purposes. The first to aid in his communication efforts and the second so when working his dinghy from the water (read rubber duckie) his position would be quickly identified. He was also given the traditional small (2 oz) unopened bottle of tequila complete with a worm inside it.

The 2016 rendezvous schedule is exciting.
