Okay, haven't been able to get much done with the boat over the past couple of weeks. Been just too hot here to finish removing the mold and mildew from those hard to get to areas under the coamings. But finally got a break in the heat and suited up. This was really nasty. Climbed up under and sprayed it down with a mixture of deck wash, bleach, and water. It's as clean as I'm going to get it. It was dark by the time I was done. I'll post some after pics tomorrow. Here's a couple of shots of the coaming holds before I started this round of cleaning.

This the gear I put on to climb into the nasty spaces under the coamings. Glad I used it. Here is what the cockpit looked like before I began the first cleaning round. Underneath was much worse. Didn't get a picture of it though but this will give a good idea of what it was like underneath there.

Cockpit before initial cleaning.

I can now begin to put the interior back into the cabin. I didn't want to start putting it all back together until I had all the mold and mildew removed. Looking forward to getting things done now. Still need to address the dent. I think I'm going to have to replace the bunker on this side of the trailer to correct stressed area.

It's looking a lot better! That cockpit was forevermore nasty. It'll make a huge difference to have that cleaned up.

Starboard coaming ready for the galley. Mine has the foam floatation throughout the boat but I want to be able to use the hold spaces so I'm going to cut out the foam from where all the lids are located. To gain some storage space back. I also intend to trim back the foam that has over-expanded and is bulging out. Plus the plywood used to make walls to retain the foam will be replaced with some abs plastic sheets.

Just received my logos I recreated for my C22 based on the original logo. Increased the size and shadowed the lettering. Made them color match to the new striping I put on the boat. I'll put one on each side. Placed this sample piece to show how I plan to place them on the boat. The letters are cut vinyl lettering printed by Fastsigns.

Went out today in spite of the heat and replaced one of the bunkers on the trailer. Also added the new winch. Slow progress due to 100° plus weather. Replacing the deteriorated bunker with a new longer one has cured the indentation on the aft port side of the boat. Here's some more pics.

No more indentation. Will still need to repair the cracks in the gel coat and reinforce the hull on the inside but that can wait until the winter.

Your boat appears to be quite a bit further back on the trailer than mine, that may have been causing some of the denting also. Mine may be too far forward too I don't know...

The front keel roller is set too high on this trailer. It was locked, rusted shut and wouldn't move. Once I got it loose I removed it, ground it down so it could be lowered. When I put it back into place I realized that the tubing was too long. It couldn't be lowered any lower than it already was. So, I'm going to have to remove it again and cut off about an inch or two to get it properly adjusted. I'll then be able to pull the boat forward into the proper position on the trailer.

Making progress toward getting the trailer ready for use. Finished the bunker boards and repositioned the boat to set property on the trailer. I still need to cut the sliding pipe so the bow roller can be adjusted to better allow the bow to come forward.

It's looking good! Your boat looks about right on the trailer now, to me at least. My front roller is lower but when I have mine winched up tight it's not sitting on that roller, so I need to raise mine.

But then on closer inspection, our trailers aren't the same, so maybe it's not a good comparison

They are close. Yours has a similar set up as mine. The bow roller on yours is much lower than mine but mine is way too tall. It really needs to be cut down about two inches. As is, it's setting at the lowest position and it's still an inch or so too tall. The boat is resting on the roller and it's weight has bent the shaft of the roller. I'll have to get a metal saw blade for my table saw to cut it down. When I jacked the boat up off the trailer I was able to pull it forward up into place. It really made a big difference in how the hull rests on the bunkers. The indentation has virtually disappeared.

You need to cut off those bunk boards directly behind where they bolt into the rear supports. They kick up so high and go so far back that you will have trouble floating off and back on the trailer.
Outdoor carpet from home depot works great for covering the bunks, just make sure you use stainless staples or galvanized fence nails (U Nails) tacked in on the sides.

I put outdoor carpet on the boards it's just on the top of the boards. I was thinking about cutting the boards down. Now that the boat is setting properly I can see they don't need to be that long. Still learning as I go.

We finally got a break in the weather. I went out to take advantage of this the starboard side needed some attention. Some scratches in the gel coat. Discoloration from some not so good hull care some time ago. Was a bit unconventional but I like the result. Here's a picture showing how it looks after the respray and below how it looked when I picked it up. The epoxy paint I used

was a really close color match with the gel coat. I can't tell the difference.

Slowly getting things back in the cabin. Was missing the access panel on the bow bulkhead in the cabin so I decided to make one. Here's what I came up with. Wanted to make it interesting.
I started with a sketch then refined that sketch to a shorter version. I cut that version out to make a template from. I then traced the template onto the panel. I then used my scroll saw to cut out the tracing.

Since the wood I used wasn't teak I coated it with a clear glaze coat epoxy so I won't have to worry about it rotting.

Well I'll be glad to send anyone a template for a small fee. Is there a way to get email addresses or do I just share mine on here? How does one send a PM on this site?

Here's a question for our more knowledgeable Catalina 22 owners. In the cockpit on my boat there are four round brackets, mounting bases? Two on the bulkhead next to the companionway and two on the inside wall of the transom. I think they may have been used for some type of cleat. Does anyone recognize these. Here are pictures.

I would like to use them with what ever type of cleat they work with but I don't know what that would be. TIA for any ideas.
